27 Hours a Day
If only I had more time. I regularly hear that phrase from others. More than I care to admit, I often wish it for myself.
Though we long for more time, that’s not the real issue. If we all suddenly had 27 hours a day or 8 days a week, we’d continue to wrestle with time once the novelty wore off. God has given us enough time for what he’s given us to do. His goal isn’t for us to be overcommitted and under pressure (though we often do that to ourselves). God wants us fully present—not fully exhausted.
We actually each have a unique relationship with time. Some feel time moves too slow and, to quote an old rock band, we have “too much time on our hands.” For others, there’s never enough time.
In this Wild at Heart podcast, I’m joined by Sam Eldredge to look at where our beliefs about time began.
Knowing how you relate to time reveals why you respond the way we do when people and demands require more or less than you desire. It’s an incredibly hopeful message, because your relationship with time, unlike gravity, can be changed for the better when you invite the Creator of time into the process.
