C. S. Lewis is Waiting

Imagine having C. S. Lewis as a guest at your home. The fireplace is crackling with logs, there are no distractions, and an abundance of time to ponder the deeper issues of life, faith, and story.

But why just imagine it?  You can have leisurely time with C. S. Lewis whenever you want…on the specific topics you desire.

Yes, I realize he passed away in 1963. But so much of his wisdom, wit, and creativity remains accessible within the pages of his books.

I recently took a road trip with C. S. Lewis. But where we were going, we didn’t need roads (shout out to Doc Brown from Back to the Future). Our travels included time on Mars and Venus as well as Oxford. The gateway to this adventure was the Ransom Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, That Hideous Strength). Written more than eighty years ago, it’s wonderfully timeless yet incredibly timely.

But that’s just one possibility. Curious how science and education can be manipulated to control and indoctrinate? C. S. Lewis has a lot to say on that topic in The Abolition of Man. Dealing with loss? In A Grief Observed, he is too. Struggling with weighty questions about faith? Grab a chair and a copy of Mere Christianity. Or lose yourself in some of his more wildly imaginative creations such as The Screwtape Letters and The Great Divorce.

It will be time well spent. But it’s up to you to initiate the time with Lewis.
