Skip This & Your Art Suffers
Discoverability is a huge need for creators. Because how can people buy or engage in something they don’t know exists?
But we miss the main thing when we think the only time for discoverability is at the end of the creative process. There’s a much earlier, far more personal need for discoverability. Skip this and your art won’t ring true.
The five questions below will help you discover the deepest parts of your creativity. I say “discover” because the goal isn’t for you to come up with your best guesses…but to allow God to reveal the answers. Ask him to interpret your creative story in fresh ways, to remind you of stirrings long forgotten (or perhaps never realized), and to show you why he infused you with your specific talents.
What makes you come alive creatively? Why?
Where do most sense God’s anointing when you create?
How do you see the world uniquely from everyone else?
What has most been set against your creativity?
Why is your creativity needed for such a time as this?
Discover this first. Then you’re ready to help others discover your art.
