More Is Available
-An exclusive excerpt from Allen’s new book-
Whether you are satisfied or unsatisfied with your creativity, more is available. But what we don’t need more of is what we’ve already tried and found lacking. As C. S. Lewis said, “We all want progress, but if you’re on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive.”
We want to go back to God’s original design for us. That’s the right road. To do so, we must first see our predicament clearly to understand what’s in the way. Why are we experiencing more breakdowns than breakthroughs? How come our efforts don’t bring more joy? What is this blankness that clouds our thinking?
Why don’t we experience freedom and breakthrough more regularly? Because it is opposed. Our creativity has been compromised. If we don’t understand why, we will get caught in a vicious cycle of scarcity, blame, shame, and resignation.
As we start this journey, I hope to be a voice in the wilderness lighting the way forward. At the deepest level, we don’t have a creative problem. We have a glitch problem. In the next reading, Albert Einstein reveals a surprising way to solve high-stake problems.
