Not a Popularity Contest

Popularity and influence aren't the same thing. It’s crucial not to confuse them.

The shallow end of the pool is popular but offers nothing for those eager to experience the ocean.

You aren’t in a popularity contest. You’re bringing to life what God has given you a passion for. Create from that sweet spot. Success is whether you’re actively doing that together with him. And that kind of success can never be fully measured by social media likes, online reviews, or even sales of your offerings.

And, just an observation: the winner of the social media popularity contest has a shelf life of about 24 hours. It is fleeting. And immediately forgotten. It’s not worth pursuing or craving.

Far better to focus on what will have an eternal spark. No matter how popular it is in the moment.  Fewer followers doesn't mean less influence…as long as you take them deeper.
