They oppose those who see without first being told how to see. They seek to silence those who ask questions and reach conclusions that veer from their predefined script. They won’t tolerate any who refuse to parrot the party line. 

But mostly, they hate those who create with the Creator. Because ever since Eden, the temptation has been for humanity to try and create their own reality. One with us at the center rather than God.
