Your 3 Favorite Shows

God regularly speaks to us through story. And in today’s world, that primarily happens through the movies and series we watch. 

A shortcut to understanding your heart is to consider what types of shows you’re drawn to. Do you prefer dystopian dramas, romantic comedies, reality series, historical dramas, or something other?  

Now consider your three all-time favorite shows or movies. Though they may seem totally unrelated, that’s rarely the case. Because whatever is drawing you to them likely taps into a similar theme, question, or dream…even if it doesn’t seem that way on the surface. A friend of mine claims if he knows a person’s three favorite movies, he can name the core desires of their heart for this very reason. 

So what are your three favorite shows? After you name them, pause and consider what longings they stir in you. If you aren’t sure, ask God to reveal the reasons.  

While the shows aren’t real, the breakthrough can be. If you enter into those stories with God.
