A God-Infused Imagination

Ever wonder why God gave you an imagination? He didn’t have to.

He’d already seen the devastation caused when Adam and Eve used their imagination to imagine a life apart from him. When we leave God out of our imagination, things can go south really fast.

If life were simply about obedience, imagination would only complicate things. Far easier to simply state what’s expected and demand the rules are followed. Thankfully, God values relationships above all.

So he took the risk of entrusting us with the immense power of an imagination. Many will abuse this gift. Few will choose to use it actively with God.

But for the rare ones who do, our God-infused imagination gives us eyes to see and ears to hear the sights, songs, and stories of Eden. To experience the awe of God. And to imagine eternity.

When we reclaim our Eden imagination, we can use it not as an escape from reality—but as an invitation into God’s deeper reality. Imagine that.
