Let Go & Hold Tight

As Christmas nears, what is the state of your heart? For many, the season holds little hope. In fact, it often reveals our unmet longings to be seen, known, and loved. The only desire is for this year to be over and for next year to be better. But how will the new year be different if we stay the same?

In the midst of this, God comes for our weary hearts. He invites us to let go and hold tight. 

First, he asks you to let go of all that is weighing you down. The broken promises. The unexpected losses. The lack of progress. And yes, the illusion of control. 

As you release those things, you can now hold tight to God. Because while your past may be filled with rejection or disappointment, God hasn’t rejected you. He isn’t disappointed in you. He’s looking for those who will say “yes” and follow him into the chaos of this broken world, with no guarantees other than his steadfast presence.

Doing so won’t just lead to a better Christmas. It will lead to a new beginning. For your creativity and your life. 

But it starts with a choice. First to let go. Then to hold tight.
