The Inevitable…Isn’t

We look at the world and see evil gaining ground in so many areas. The trajectory seems unstoppable and inevitable, so we begin to lose hope. For our future, our families, and our creativity.

But just because we can’t fathom how God will turn the chaos around, we mustn’t doubt that he is actively doing just that.

You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. (Proverbs 19:21 NLT)

This is such good news. The plans of humans are not inevitable. They are shaky at best. The only things truly inevitable are the plans of God. And what are his plans? They are filled not with fear but hope—for now and the future.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)
