Three Things Everyone Has In Common

“Remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.”

I first encountered these powerful words decades ago while reading Life’s Little Instruction Book by H. Jackson Brown.

We’re well aware of the issues we’re going through. Why just showing up is all we can muster at times. But we forget that others aren’t just there to make our days easier. They’re facing much of what we are…and often far more.

We don’t have to know the details. But we do need to lead with grace and mercy so that, if only for a moment, they feel seen, known, and loved.

May we be that person for others. And may someone be that person for us.
