See What’s Real

How we see the world is so essential. When God is at the center, our vision is focused. But the farther we get from him, the less we see what’s real. Our vision becomes blurred.

They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see, and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend. (Isaiah 44:18 NASB)

Our vision affects how we see life, God, ourselves, others ... and our creativity. Most of us spend more time staring into our screens than looking into the eyes of other people or taking in nature. How can we create authentically when we’re stuck in the artificial?

Thankfully, Jesus came to help us regain our sight. A simple yet powerful prayer is “Jesus, show me how you see things. Shine your light on this issue. Give me eyes to see what’s really going on.”
