The One who created you and gave you the desire to create has the only true perspective on your creativity. He alone knows all you’ve gone through and overcome to be at this point.

One of my dad’s go-to expressions in the face of what he sensed was inevitable was: “It is what it is.” 

I hate that phrase. The words convey a sense of insurmountable inevitability.

In our excitement to make things happen, we can futurecast. That’s defined as the practice of envisioning and forecasting potential future scenarios to inform today’s decisions. I would take away the positive spin. Without God, it’s never wise to presume what will happen in the future.

What’s the main thing standing in the way of your creative goals? It’s important to know what the hurdle is. Yet naming it is never enough. Because the goal is breakthrough…not simply awareness.

When God invites us to create, we have a choice. We can say yes and create it with God. Or we can be conditional creators, proceeding only if perceived limits are first removed.
