How is your creativity relevant to this particular moment in time?

You have a way of seeing the world unlike anyone else. It reflects the unique gifting, interests, and creativity that God knit into you before you were born. 

If your life were a movie, what would the poster look like for this particular installment?

The phrase “necessary evil” rationalizes the occasional need for horrific compromises in order to achieve a greater good. 

God has a sense of humor far superior to your favorite comedian. That shouldn’t surprise you. God invented laughter. 

It’s almost impossible to get through the day without hearing more devastating developments—whether at home, work, or the evening news. 

The less real something is, the more we tend to be drawn to it.

The ability to say just enough and no more is a learned art—whether in conversation with another, a prayer to God, or in your creative writing.

A pastor recently made the comment that believers have been moved to the fringes of culture. But the reality is—believers aren’t the ones who moved. 

Believers are more hard-pressed than ever. Not over any one issue, but on every front.

The word sea change isn’t just used as a nautical term. It refers to any profound transformation. And this world is going through a particularly seismic upheaval now.

I’m finding less and less in this world that satisfies me. I hope the same is true for you. 

The reason is simple.

We live in a culture addicted to the new. Past wisdom that has proven true for centuries somehow seems irrelevant for present times. 

When God invites us to do something that pertains to a current situation or season, what’s the next step? 

Some goodbyes are harder than others. I went through one of my hardest a few years ago.

When faced with the loss of a dream and the lack of answers or income, it can feel like there’s scarcity in every part of your life.  In these moments, every part of us wants to give up. Which makes it the perfect moment to practice holy defiance by choosing faith over feelings. 

During my last year in college, I decided to get a dog. That one decision led to sixteen years of joy.

Creative people often worry that others may steal their ideas and beat them to the marketplace. Perhaps this is true for widgets, but not for God-given creativity

The One who created you and gave you the desire to create has the only true perspective on your creativity. He alone knows all you’ve gone through and overcome to be at this point.
